When invited to paint at Baltimore’s George Peabody Library, I knew this would be a once-in-a-lifetime artistic opportunity. The historic venue’s soaring five-story atrium, with its ornate cast-iron balconies and classical details, provided an absolutely breathtaking backdrop for capturing this love story in paint.

Setting up my easel among towering bookshelves that stretch 61 feet toward a dramatic skylight, I found myself immersed in the perfect blend of historic grandeur and intimate romance. The warm glow from Event Dynamics’ carefully placed lighting created an ethereal atmosphere, casting gentle shadows across the black and white marble floors that seemed to dance with the celebration.

What made this piece extraordinary was capturing how Kate Campbell Floral’s elegant arrangements complemented the library’s Victorian architecture while maintaining a fresh, contemporary feel. The emerald velvet linens from BBJ La Tavola and gold infinity chairs created luxurious texture against the venue’s rich woodwork and classical details.
